"1001 and You're Out" is a print-and-play game specifically designed for year 3 and year 4 students to practice adding to 1000 and understanding the place value of three-digit numbers. How to Play

Materials Needed: Each player will need a dice and a copy of the game sheet, which includes the number column and

Gameplay:

Turn-Taking: Players take turns rolling a dice. After each roll, they must decide whether to use the dice number as 'ones', 'tens' or 'hundreds'.

Recording Choices: If the player rolls a 5, they can choose to record it as either 5 ones (5) or 5 tens (50) or 5 hundreds (500). This decision should be recorded in the corresponding column on the game sheet.

Filling the Columns: The number chosen (as ones, tens or hundreds) is written in the number column. Players must add their new number to the total and write the updated total in the total column.

Continuing the Game: The game proceeds with each player taking turns to roll the dice, select ones, tens or hundreds, and update their total.

Objective: Players continue this process for six rolls each. The goal is to get as close to 1000 as possible without going over.

Winning the Game: The winner is the player with the sum that is closest to 1000 without exceeding it.
