2D Shape Bingo Rules

Setup:

  1. Attach the Spinner: Attach the spinner to page 17, which features a wheel with 11 equal sections, each containing a picture of a 2D shape.

  2. Print and Laminate Bingo Boards: Print and laminate pages 2 through 16. These are the bingo boards, each containing a 6-shape grid. Laminating the boards ensures durability, so they can be used repeatedly.

How to Play:

  1. Distribute Bingo Boards: Each student receives a laminated bingo board. Ensure each board is unique to keep the game challenging and fun!

  2. Spin the Wheel: A student or teacher spins the wheel on the spinner.

  3. Identify the Shape: Identify the 2D shape shown by the spinner and call it out to the class.

Gameplay:

  • If the shape spun appears on a player’s bingo board, the player places a counter on that shape.

  • Players take turns spinning the wheel, and everyone checks their boards for the shape each time the spinner is used.

Winning the Game:

  • The first player to place a counter on all 6 shapes on their bingo board wins! Celebrate the winner and play again for more practice.

Tips for Teachers:

  • Laminate the Boards: This makes the boards more durable for repeated use.

  • Use Dry-Erase Markers: Instead of counters, consider using dry-erase markers to mark off shapes on the boards. This makes cleanup a breeze and allows students to reset their boards quickly.

  • Multiple Rounds: Play multiple rounds and keep track of wins to determine an overall champion, which adds an element of competition and excitement!
