Making Measurement Meaningful with Pegs
The "Converting Length Pegs" activity turns abstract measurement conversions into a tangible, hands-on experience. Here’s what you can expect:

Pages 2-16: These pages contain a series of cards, each featuring a large measurement at the top (e.g., 6 cm). Below are three different conversion options (e.g., 6 mm, 60 mm, 600 mm).
Pegs: Students use pegs to select the correct answer, reinforcing their understanding of measurement conversions.

How to Conduct the "Converting Length Pegs" Activity

Print and Prepare the Cards: Download and print pages 2 through 16 of the "Converting Length Pegs" activity. Cut out the cards and laminate them for durability.
Provide Pegs: Give each student a set of pegs to use during the activity.
Answer Selection: Students read the large measurement at the top of each card and place a peg on the correct conversion option at the bottom. For example, if the card shows 6 cm, the correct answer might be 60 mm.
Peer Review and Teacher Feedback: Students can check each other’s work, show their answers to the teacher, or use the activity as a fast finisher task.
