"Monster Bump – ea" is a hands-on phonics game that blends literacy development with strategy and play. Students will spin, read, and cover words containing the "ea" digraph, reinforcing their reading skills in a lively and entertaining way.

 

How to Play

Playing "Monster Bump – ea" is simple and fun! Follow these steps to get started:

1. Set Up

   • Print the game board and the spinner.

   • Each player selects 6 counters in their chosen color. Every player must have a different color.

2. Spin and Read

   • Players take turns spinning the wheel.

   • The spinner will land on an "ea" word, which the player reads aloud.

3. Cover the Word

   • The player places a counter on the matching word on the board.

4. Bump Opponent’s Counters

   • If another player’s counter is already on that word, the new player can "bump" it off and replace it with their own.

5. Lock Your Spot

   • If a player lands on a word they have already covered, they can place a second counter on top to lock it in place, preventing others from bumping them off.

6. Winning the Game

   • The first player to place all 6 of their counters on the board wins!
